Sara is a 41 year old diabetic single mother who lives in Ipswich with her daughter Katelyn.  Sara has worked at Winthrop School in Ipswich for 19 years and has worked her way up to a RBT, Registered Behavioral Technician.

For the second time in three years Sara fell on October 13th, broke her ankle in multiple places and had to have surgery by a trauma surgeon.  Now she will be out of work indefinitely, and only has enough sick days to cover a little over a month.  When her sick days run out and she has no money coming in she will still have to pay $1,200 a month for her health insurance, which she needs now more than ever.  Her other bills will still need to be paid, car payment, electric, water, heat, etc.  She is not eligible for Workmans Comp (because her accident was at home) or Transitional Assistance.  Sara has had juvenile diabetes since she was 12, and now suffers from osteopenia, causing her bones to break easily.

Because Sara works with kids that at times can get very physical she will have to be fully healed before going back to work.  Sara also did after work home hours which was extra money that she counted on every month to pay her bills.

If I had to use one word to describe Sara the word would be KIND. She is kind to everyone and especially the special needs kids she works with.  She would help anyone out, and now I hope we can get her through this rough patch in her life.
