A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has supported Ashlea during this journey. As of today Ashlea was taken by ambulance on Monday, 2 days ago and had debridement surgery yesterday and will remain in the hospital. They are planning skin grafts in order to do everything possible to save her leg.

Knowing this time of year is a struggle for everyone, we cannot tell you how very grateful for your help that we are. She is struggling financially with tremendous expenses and every penny is lifesaving to her right now. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your help! ♥️

ORIGINAL POST:::
My name is Debra Jacks, I have never done a Go Fund Me but my 35 year old Daughter Sara (Ashlea) is needing urgent prayers and financial help.

On October 25th, she had a Grand Mal seizure at her home and collapsed. She was alone and lay unconscious in the same position for over 24 hours.

By the time she was found, the blood flow had been cut off to her right leg, and amputation was necessary. A Surgeon, Dr. Matthews at Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham decided to try a last ditch effort to save her leg.

She was taken to emergency surgery to treat acute extremity compartment syndrome.

Fasciotomy with release of all compartments in the respective extremity to her right leg was performed and she has two large incisions on her right leg from knee to ankle.

Complications associated with fasciotomy include infection, delayed healing, prolonged hospital stays, and persistent pain at fasciotomy sites.

Against the odds, the blood flow and pulse has been restored, and so far they have been able to avoid amputation. we are extremely thankful for the quick thinking of the staff and the Surgeon, Dr. Matthews at Princeton Baptist in Birmingham.

While no longer in ICU she remains hospitalized with more surgery scheduled for today, Monday, November 6th.

She has a long recovery ahead. Thank you so much for prayers as she faces the days, months ahead.

According to the Doctors treating her, she will have weeks, possibly months of physical therapy, and wound care ahead.

Anything you can donate will help her with her many needs as she has exhausted all financial resources and is unable to return to work for a while with mounting medical bills.

Thank you so very very much, your help is appreciated beyond words! ♥️
