Sarah and Dan's 24 hour cycle
Donation protected
On Wednesday 29th April 2020 our amazing Uncle sadly passed away just 11 days after being diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.
A lot of people say the same but our uncle was genuinely the best uncle you could ever wish for, he was kind, caring and had the best heart and the most wicked sense of humour, there was never an occasion that went by when he didnt have us all in stitches!
Unfortunately due to the ongoing restrictions we were unable to attend his funeral to say goodbye as a family so me and my brother have decided to do a 24 hour indoor cycle where the donations will gp towards his memory page which will then be donated to his chosen charity, this cycle will take place on Saturday 30th May 2020.
Panreatic Cancer still has the lowest 5-year survival rate of all the 22 most common cancers, and this is largely due to late diagnosis; Some reasons for this include:
- No current screening tool available to detect cancer before symptoms develop,
- No simple diagnostic tool for the disease,
- Pancreatic Cancer often presents with vague symptoms that make it difficult to diagnose. For some people, like Rob, symptoms come at a late stage of the disease.
Hopefully these funds we raise will help put more resource into finding a way for earlier diagnosis for this horrible disease and giving people a better chance of survival.
Thank you so much for all the love and support you have shown so far x
