Sarah and Josh Flaherty and the girls
Donation protected
In October of 2022, Sarah, a then 27-year old wife and mother of three little girls was diagnosed with breast cancer. A lumpectomy was performed on December 1st and it was determined that cancer had spread to her lymph nodes. On December 11th, Sarah suffered an avulsion fracture to her pelvis, an odd injury given that she was only climbing stairs, but a fortuitous one, because due to that injury a PET scan was ordered and it was discovered that the cancer had metastasized to her pelvis, liver and spine.
Sarah and her husband, Josh are parents to three little girls ages 8, 5 and 3. Sarah worked full-time as a pharmacy technician and Josh works part-time and holds down the fort at home. While the cancer diagnosis alone did not keep Sarah out of work, the pelvic fracture did. And now that she has started chemo treatment, she can only work part-time.
Sarah and Josh need financial help while they navigate this illness and figure out how to best meet the needs of their family. And Sarah needs extensive dental work ($20,000 estimate) in order to take a particular medicine and has no insurance coverage available for that work.
