Memorial bench inside local secondary school for Sarah

This fundraiser is for a close friend of mine Sarah Ellis who passed away in July 2024.

Sarah and I had known each other for the past 8 years. Most of those years were spent at a local secondary school Brimsham Green where we first met and our friendship flourished.

For most of her childhood, Sarah lived in foster care and moved into supportive living before her 18th birthday. My mum and I felt it was important to look out for her knowing how hard it must have been without any close family around. Although Sarah and I had moved on taking different life paths at that point, I continued to stay in touch and offered my full support.

On Thursday 4th July 2024, Sarah unexpectedly passed away shortly before her 21st birthday. A shock to those who knew her. After a coroner’s inquest a few months later, it was discovered that she tragically died from heart failure.

Sarah had many happy years as a pupil at Brimsham Green School which was the anchor of our friendship. Sarah loved the school's staff and environment, especially the resource base which helped her with her additional needs and was surrounded by many of her friends. Years after we left the school, we would always reminisce about our time at Brimsham.

In her memory, I would like to install a bench within the school dedicated to Sarah as I know how much she enjoyed her time at Brimsham which has been kindly agreed by the headmistress. We have a goal of reaching £1,500 and so far raised £143 from a recent bake sale however we are still very short on reaching our target. Any donations made will be greatly appreciated!
