In memory of Sarah Ullmann

Update September 11, 2024:
It’s been over seven years since we first created this GoFundMe page, and our family wants to take this moment to extend our deepest thanks to everyone who has supported us through donations, kind words, and prayers since Sarah’s passing in January 2018. Your generosity and love have carried us through some of our darkest days and have kept Sarah’s memory alive in ways that continue to comfort us.

To those who were true friends to Sarah, who stood by her side and shared in her light, thank you. If you were fortunate enough to know Sarah, you know how special she was—her kindness, intelligence, and vibrant spirit were a gift to all who knew her. Her loss remains deeply felt within our family, as she was the glue that held us together during tough times. Reflecting on her short 13 years brings us both peace and heartache, but we find comfort in the beautiful memories she left behind.

We are forever grateful for how our community came together to honor Sarah’s life and raise awareness about bullying and teenage suicide. Your continued support and love have been a source of strength for us over these past seven years.

While we will always grieve the many milestones Sarah never had the chance to reach, such as graduating, pursuing her dreams, and starting a family, we choose to focus on the lasting impact she made during her time with us. Her loss reminds us of the importance of kindness, compassion, and holding your loved ones close, as we never know what struggles someone may be silently facing.

If you or someone you know is experiencing bullying, depression, or other mental health struggles, please know that there is help available. Our family is here for anyone who needs to talk, and there are resources to support you. You are loved, you are important, and your life has value.

Original Post:
My little sister Sarah passed away on January 16, 2018. She was the sweetest girl you could’ve met. She was smart, kind, caring, and loving. She loved people and she wanted the best for everybody.

She was a second degree black belt in karate, and she even started teaching other kids defense techniques. She was doing trigonometry in school and she was only in the eighth grade. She was the light in the room, and her smile was so vibrant and it made everyone else happy.

She committed suicide because she was being bullied by kids inside and outside of her school. We not only want to raise awareness to suicide, but also to bullying. Know the risk factors and if you are contemplating suicide please call the Suicide Hotline.

She was so beautiful and she didn’t deserve to go so soon. We will miss her, her sweet voice, her laugh, and every other thing about her.

She was 13 years old. My family and I want to raise money to help with medical expenses, funeral expenses, and to bring awareness to bullying and teenage suicide. Anything and everything helps.
