Sarah's Battle With Breast Implant Illness
Donation protected
My name is Adam, and I started this to help my wife, Sarah. Over the past few years I noticed changes in my wife's overall health. For a while we summed it up to lack of rest, diet, exercise routine, etc. You name it, we thought of it. Well, it turns out after all this time her breast implants are taking a major role, if not the main role, in her suffering. We now know she is suffering from Breast Implant Illness. Sarah has done some really great research into what needs to be done, where it needs to be done, and who needs to do it. Any and all money raised from this campaign will go straight to the cause. This will help with medical costs (removal of the implants with capsulectomy) , travel expenses (we live in California, but she will be getting the procedures done in Jupiter, FL), and the reconstruction process to follow allowing her to continue on through life with confidence, and dignity. These are very tough times we live in. Sarah and I are right there with you all in that, but if anyone has gone through something like this before, or has the ability to help, our deepest love and thanks to you. I will let her explain it in her own words below. Thank you, and blessings to you all!
"In 2018 I started experiencing lumps and severe pain in my breasts. My family has a history of thyroid and breast cancer so I began various testing and natural remedies to help heal my body. Over the year my symptoms worsened and became something indicating some sort of autoimmune disease. I started with eliminating common allergens in food, and keeping track of my intake and exercise daily. My body was not my own, I was suffering from a multitude of weird symptoms and feeling “off”. In 2019 the FDA recalled various textures breast implants, these were the implants I had chosen so I went to the doctor to begin a whole new round of testing. I called my plastic surgeon and Allergan to confirm the implants in my body were on the recall list. My surgeon informed me he had put in a different type of implant without my knowledge (which is a whole other can of worms).
All of my testing came back within normal ranges, but my body was still rebelling on me. So I continued to research and in my research I came across Breast Implant Illness. Any foreign object in a persons body has the possibility of being “rejected” which cause the plethora of symptoms I have been dealing with for years without being able to diagnose. I was introduced to a group called Breast Implant Illness and Healing with Nicole, over 100k strong, and all women suffering without answers!
I love my breasts, so I first decided to eliminate any other possibilities. I removed my IUD, underwent more specific testing, and continued my research. This pandemic allowed me to really focus on research and health. After discussing with my doctors, with other women suffering the same things, with my family, we have come to the conclusion that my symptoms and illness most likely is the cause of my breast implants.
I have booked a surgery through the wonderful Breast Implant Illness liaison Dee Hicks, and though I am sad and emotional I am also looking forward to feeling GOOD, to being myself, and to once again living in my own body. The people I know personally who have gone through explant with enbloc capsulecomy began feeling better almost instantly, and progressively got better.
These are the symptoms I have been dealing with for the last two/ three years without explanation-
-Biting inside of mouth from anxiety
-Numbing hands and arms
-Severe pain in finger and hand joints
-Ringing in ears
-Breast pain sometimes sharp sometimes dull and constant
-lack of sleep
-major brain fog
-super puffy weight gain without diet/exercise change
-serious digestive issues
-stomach pain after eating almost anything
-bloating
-bumps on skin
-excessive dry skin
-heart palpitations
-lymph node sensitivity, and swelling
-swollen itchy armpits
-hair thinning suddenly "
