Sarah's Quarter Abroad

UPDATE: After this campaign started, my dog had an accident where she took a 20 foot drop. She is in surprisingly good shape, and I have insurance for her, but the ER (and the rehab after that) are spendy. Any help is appreciated!

Hello Friends! I've been accepted to attend summer quarter in Spain at Centro Superior de Idiomas de la Universidad de Alicante! I leave June 16 and will be studying in Alicante for 5 weeks.
I have scrounged up airline miles to cover my airfare (yay for saving them!), I have a bit saved from my previous student loan and grant disbursements, and I should have a little funding through school. However, the timing of the program doesn't work with the timing of scholarships and grants that I would have otherwise been eligible for. I don't currently have enough coverage for not being able to earn any money during the quarter and also pay my bills back home. Please consider donating as an early birthday present or just to say "Wow! Good job making the Dean's list 2 quarters in a row!" If you're uncomfortable with cash / gofundme, please consider a contribution to my college fund, which I can only use for qualified education expenses (like tuition, books, and housing) - the fees are the same as gofundme unless you mail it in, but I won't pay any tax on the funds disbursed. www.sumday.com/gift/dreamahead/1WQN-7XPrkCR69MLuqBS1Q ***Why am I doing a Spanish Immersion course?*** Aside from the benefits (and hopefully fun) of traveling abroad, I'm hoping to finish what I started freshman year of college 20 years ago. I have two semesters of Spanish under my belt and would like to get fluent enough to serve Spanish speaking populations when I meet my eventual goal of becoming an Occupational Therapist. This will require some immersion, and further study abroad in Mexico and Central America to get broader perspectives on culture and local dialect. ***Will you even be doing school, though, Sarah?*** Yes, I will be attending class Monday - Friday from 9am to 2pm with the exception of a couple of holidays. It's a full quarter load of 15 credits condensed to 5 weeks. 10 are language and culture and 5 are independent study, consisting of three essays about my experiences with the culture and language. I will gladly share my essays with donors : ) . The credit from this trip will set me up for a Spanish minor.
Full Disclosure: I intend to stay in Europe for as long as I can after the quarter is over since the main expense is getting there. Nick will hopefully be able to take some vacation days and meet me there! It depends on a number of factors.
