Sarah's Costa Rica Service-Learning Internship

Hello! I hope this message finds you in a time of excitement and gratitude as the holidays approach. I am thrilled to share with you news that I have been selected to serve on a Global Health Perspectives internship through my school at Denver College of Nursing (DCN). I was chosen for a service-learning internship traveling to Costa Rica in December 2022 for my pediatric clinical. This exciting internship partners with a non-profit organization called FIMRC. The Denver College of Nursing has partnered with FIMRC following the last year's challenges to provide support to a community that often lacks services locally. Please check out their website: https://www.fimrc.org/
Our internship will focus on providing clinical care for several communities in Alajuelita, Costa Rica. While on the internship, we will also be partnering with local healthcare services to deliver sustainable long-term solutions to patient needs.
Most importantly, our goal is to empower local healthcare providers while teaching preventative healthcare practices to enable Nicaraguan & Costa Rican families to thrive independently long after our departure. I am so grateful for this chance to contribute my nursing skills on a global level and would be deeply honored if you would partner with me to raise funds to help me get there and support the work of FIMRC.
All funds for flights, housing, and medical outreach supplies are due to Denver College of Nursing on November 12, 2022.
My goal is to raise $4000 in the next few weeks! This money will cover the flights to Costa Rica, required vaccinations, and more importantly, it will provide needed funds to donate medical supplies, equipment, and program support for FIMRC.
Every dollar helps! I would love to keep you posted as I prepare for, attend, and return from this life-changing experience. Please let me know if I can include you in emails about this internship or any questions you might have!
Thank you so much for your thoughts, prayers, and donations.
