Sarah’s Medical Fundraiser

Hi everyone, I am putting this fundraiser for my friend Jasmine’s daughter Sarah Munzell. Sarah is 9 years old and she is in 4th grade at Waddell Language Academy. Sarah has been having instability problems with coordination issue since she’s little! She’s also very scared of the dark and sudden loud noises! Her doctor think she has muscle weakness and sensory disorder! After her parents divorced three years ago she’s also diagnosed with anxiety! Her condition got much worse in the past 6 months, she has problem doing daily activities such as getting in and out the tub, writing, going up and down the stairs and even putting on her clothes. She had EEG and MRI done and show that she has Hydrocephalus (A build-up of fluid in the cavities deep within the brain). This is caused by vein of Galin malformation. Doctors rushed her into an Neuro Endosopy surgery. Fortunately they didn’t find any tumors, but Sarah will still need endovascular treatment of the vena cava malformation and to embolize the vein! If these two surgeries can’t completely help with her problem then she’ll need a third surgery to have a shunt place into her brain! She’s doing physical therapy once a week and also therapy with a counselor! She’ll be needing more therapy after her second surgery. Her condition often also cause problem in cardiovascular system so she’ll also need to have that checked!

Sarah’s family will need money to cover the costs of the medical expenses, especially her mother’s work is paused because of COVID-19. Any amount you can contribute would be great help to them. 


大家好，我今天要為我的好朋友Jasmine的女兒Sarah 小聰來募款。Sarah 今年9歲就讀四年級，她從小就有肢體不協調和走路不穩的狀況，當時醫生只認為是肌肉不夠好和感覺統和障礙，但近半年來Sarah的狀況越來越多，所以醫生進一步做了磁共振MRI才發現她有嚴重的腦水腫，腦部積水壓迫導致不協調，讓她在生活上僅僅是穿個鞋子襪子都有困難。加上三年前Sarah的父母離異的關係讓她患上焦慮症。

Sarah在10/29已做了腦視鏡手術，幸好沒有發現腫瘤！但她即將在一月份要接受引流和腦室造口的手術，假如這兩個手術不成功，還要再另外做一個放引流系統的手術，手術過後還會有很多很多次的復健。她的心臟血管也受影響，這都要定期做檢查。

Sarah的家人很需要大家幫忙龐大的醫療開銷，尤其現在COVID 19的關係導致Sarah的媽媽 Jasmine留職停薪（她是Delta的空服員）。不管金額多少都能幫助Sarah，也請大家為Sarah祈禱手術順利，謝謝大家的幫忙
