Sarah's Walk
Thanks for visiting this page.
At the end of July, I am going to walk the Sandlings Path which is a 58 mile walk between Ipswich and Southwold. I am aiming to do it over 4 days and I’m going to walk it on my own.
I am doing this to raise money for the registered charity Aim Hi. This was formed to support Hazelmere Infant School and Nursery in Colchester, the school where I am proud to have taught for seven years.
Aim Hi supports the school by funding events and projects that give the children important and memorable experiences. These experiences are often linked to the arts, an area which, in my opinion, can sometimes be overlooked in the National Curriculum and yet vitally important to all of us in so many ways.
Aim Hi also accesses services to help and support our families. Due to Coronavirus, this has become more vital than ever.
I would like to raise money to send the school to the Mercury Theatre in Colchester this Christmas to enjoy the pantomime. This is often our children’s first experience of live performance in a theatre. In the past, the school has financed a visit every two years but budgets are very tight this year due to the pandemic and without funds being raised, it is unlikely that the school can go.
I am retiring from Hazelmere this July and I would love to give them this experience to look forward to especially as it combines two things that are very important to me; our children and local theatre.
I would be so grateful if you could help me to make this happen. Oh yes I will!
Please could you share this with your friends and family too.
Thanks again.
