Sara's Film - "I Was Gone for Awhile"

Hello friends. This year I’m directing a film that’s been on my heart for nearly two years. It’s about a young girl’s near miss with a sexual predator. It’s based on the experience of someone close to me. In the wake of the #MeToo movement, I’ve found myself often thinking about how, if things had gone a different way, this girl’s life would have been changed forever. The trajectory of an entire life would have been changed. She was lucky. Too many are not. I’ve been fortunate enough to have been awarded a grant by the Houston Arts Alliance. Unfortunately, I find that I require further funding to tell the story the way I want to tell it, and to fairly compensate those involved. Any contribution would be received with my heartfelt gratitude. It is hard for me to ask for help, and I’m doing it anyway.
