Hello friends -
Many of you have been following Sara's health journey this year, and while she is optimistic about the outcome of her upcoming 2nd surgery - there is one remaining hurdle that we need YOUR help to overcome:
This hurdle is the astronomical cost of her medical care.
As Sara explains in her own words below, she sought complex and emergency medical attention during a period where she didn't have health insurance coverage.
For many of us, this is our worst nightmare: being treated for a sudden and life threatening illness, while being vulnerably exposed to the high costs of that treatment.
You all know how much community means to Sara, and we've seen how she has built a strong and supportive business community.
For those of you that I haven't met, I am a proud member of this community - the Fab Fempreneurs.
With this community mind-set strongly in place, I am asking for you to rally around Sara who needs our help. Sara needs her tribe to support her in this time of need.
So…if you are open and able, your donation of any amount would be appreciated and highly valued and help SO much.

I'll let Sara's words fill in the details ....
"This year I started gradually having symptoms, which for a while seemed to be unrelated and easily explain-away-able. Then in August the pain REALLY started.
I had taken a year “off” from health insurance since I had years of no health issues and normal women’s wellness exams. So in early August I signed up with a new health plan which wouldn’t start coverage until September 1st. But the pain got worse and I had to go to the ER before it kicked in (a week before, ugh!). After a series of tests, it was discovered that I have multiple fibroids and one of them is the size of a CANTALOUPE.
Fibroids don’t tend to just disappear, and with the size of mine, the doctors thought I would require a hysterectomy.
The health care process can be frustrating with requirements to go to several separate appointments, obtain referrals, etc. After about 5 weeks I had a procedure (laparoscopy) to see inside my abdomen and uterus (they insert a camera!) to assess the situation, get a biopsy, and determine whether we’ll be able to do a laparoscopic vs invasive approach for the hysterectomy (and rule out cancer!).
I have appreciated your prayers during this process. I’ve never had major surgery and I desire to recover well and quickly- to heal and build back up to my healthy self and start feeling better.
Many of you may have noticed I haven’t been as engaged as much this year… this has been partly why. And BIG thanks for your patience and grace with any reschedules this year. There were many days when the symptoms dragged me down and I needed rest. Through this process and COVID circumstances I’ve learned to do less but better!
Most recently, I had the post-op appointment and got GREAT news:
I will be having second surgery soon, but it will only be to remove the fibroid- not a hysterectomy!
AND only the one huge fibroid- we thought there were multiple.
AND this means a laparoscopic surgery removal is possible!
So far it looks like I’m cancer-free!
I’ll still need surgery, biopsy of the fibroid itself, and still require noticeable recovery period, but these are all good things to celebrate!
Chris and I will continue to keep you updated. I appreciate each of you and your prayers, support, encouragement, and relationship.
I am a big hugger so whatever you’re dealing with right now, please accept a BIG heartfelt, authentic HUG from me. You are loved.
I know God has a plan to use this experience for good, and this year has been a doozy- so next year must be bringing some GOLD. I trust the same for you.
So many of us, even go-getters like me have unexpected hard times.
With the unexpected ER visit before my insurance took effect, and the bills in process and coming up, I’m looking at approximately $25,000 in medical bills (this is after what my insurance covers).
This can be hard to come back from by itself, let alone when trying to heal AND continuing growing my business back to health after the impact of COVID this year.
So…if you are open and able, your donation of any amount would be appreciated and highly valued and help SO much.
I’m a worthy investment as I plan to do even greater things to make a positive impact on people’s lives and business going forward!
Thank you, and much love."
