Sara's Journey to OperaWorks 2018

Hi friends! My name is Sara Scott and I am a vocalist and voice teacher.
I am currently in my third year as an Applied Voice Instructor at Lycoming College, where I am also the Administrative Assistant for the Music Dept. I love my job and the students that I get to work with everyday. As an educator and performer, I am always looking for new opportunities to further my growth as an artist.
I'm excited to share that I have been selected as one of 26 people to participate in OperaWorks' 2018 Advanced Artist Program held in Los Angeles. This is a four week program running from the end of June to the end of July, with performances on the final two days of the program. OperaWorks is nationally acclaimed for their innovative holistic approach to developing opera professionals as complete artists and solo entrepreneurs. I will study Performance Techniques, Acting, Musical/Dramatic Analysis, Conducting, Improvisation, Yoga, Physical Theater, the Alexander Technique, and have Private Coaching sessions. I'll also take business classes including Career Planning, Social Media and Marketing for Performing Artists.
A full company profile, faculty bios, and more information can be found at www.operaworks.com
I feel at this stage in my career, OperaWorks is a program that will give me an immense amount of growth and opportunity! I am committed to attending this program, but as with many educational opportunities... there is also a cost!
Tuition and housing for the OperaWorks Advanced Artist Program totals $4,750.00. I will also need to pay for my travel expenses and meals while in California. My hope is to raise some of the cost of my tuition through the support of family and friends. Any amount that you are able to contribute would be GREATLY appreciated!
To my friends, family, students, and colleagues - thank you for always being incredibly supportive of my musical endeavors! I am SO excited to share this summer journey to OperaWorks with YOU!
THANK YOU!
