Sart's "Robert McHugh" Memorial Fund

Donation protected
It is with deep sadness that we lost our friend Robert “Sart” McHugh, Monday May 18, 2020 in Silverthorne, CO, way to early and very unexpectedly.

Sart made Silverthorne his home for the last 42 years where he owned and operated an excavation company, “Sart’s Dirtwork”. His connections in the community were many and his “one of a kind” personality was loved by all. When he wasn’t playing in the dirt he could be found hanging at the Sunshine for a 2 hour lunch, or driving around in his little blue smart car whose bumper sticker read “My other car is a dump truck”. He always had a supply of red vine licorice and various sizes of coveted “Sart’s Dirtwork” T-Shirts. Only Sart could pull off a business shirt with a rude secret message that people of all ages loved and couldn’t wait to own. He was always full of laughter and life.

Sart loved the energy of the earth and the energy of the body and the soul. He believed that we lived many lives and that this journey on earth was just one of the many great adventures he would have. He believed in positive thinking and enjoying every moment and lived that daily

Many of you that knew him, knew a big part of Sart's life was his family at Crimson Circle.  He embraced all that Crimson Circle represented and it is their memorial video of him that you get to see a little part of who he was.  Geoffrey Hoppe was able to talk to Sart after he passed and if you want to hear Sart Speak after life, check out:

We love what Sart had to share afterlife:

“Life consists of a lot of shoveling dirt. You move it here and you move it there, but it’s still a pile of dirt. I realized that I’d had it with the dirt of life.”

Sart's community of friends are raising funds for a memorial park bench in his name to be placed in Summit County, CO and a scholarship fund for Sart’s favorite little excavator, 11 year old, Maxwell Fleischer (Lockwood).

Thank you for all of your kind words, support and love. Please continue to recall the stories from Sart's life as they are constant reminders that will keep his memory alive.
