Sasha, a SURVIVOR of Domestic Abuse, needs help

Sasha needs help with legal fees and court costs to obtain court ordered alimony from her ex-husband, her abuser. Sasha was divorced in 2013, but her ex-husband has refused to pay her, even though it is court ordered. She has to hire an attorney to help her with garnishing his wages because free legal aid is unavailable in her situation. In addition, she has a restraining order against him until 2099, and he cannot know her whereabouts. Sasha lives a very private life because of the horrendous violence she experienced and is still recovering from the trauma and abuse she has suffered through.

Sasha’s ex-husband had a plan to murder her; to put her body in garbage bags, place her in a large suitcase in the trunk of a rental car and light it on fire in a desolate part of Canada. After years of physical, mental and sexual abuse, and this being his final plan for her, she was able to escape him before he carried out his plan. She moved into a domestic violence shelter and divorced him by herself, without an attorney when he was in prison for unrelated crimes.

Please help empower Sasha with the hope that a better future and a pathway to get there is possible.

Sasha is on Medicaid and Food Stamps and the alimony will be used for intensive therapies not covered by her state’s Medicaid plan, tuition so she can finish her degree and possibly the purchase of a used car because she currently takes the bus or walks.

Sasha is compassionate, loving, generous and intelligent. She suffers from severe depression and PTSD, but is strong and brave and hasn’t lost hope. She would love to work for RAINN (Rape, Abuse, Incest National Network) or Amnesty International in the future to help other survivors.
