Cerebral Palsy Service Dog Needed
Donation protected
My name is Rex and I am a 9 year-old German Shepherd service dog. My dad has Cerebral Palsy so, since I was a puppy, I was trained to be by his side and to assist him with his day-to-day activities. For instance, in the morning I bring him his crutches so he can get out of bed and, after his shower, I retrieve his clothes so he can get dressed. Should dad drop something, I am right there to retrieve it for him. I get to go everywhere with dad. My favorite is spending days at his work, anticipating anything he may need. I love doing my job but, sadly, I’m getting older and will soon be facing retirement. Luckily, my dad was able to own me outright so I will still be his best friend, but will have to get someone else to do my job. I really worry about how my dad will survive without my help. I know my dad has been looking for a replacement dog to help me now and to eventually take over my job. I'm very happy that he has found a beautiful six-month-old female German Shepherd, named Sassy, who has the right temperament and personality. To prepare Sassy for her new job, she needs very expensive training to become as good and as reliable as I am. Sassy costs $1,800 and her training will be $9,000 to assist with my dad’s disability. My dad’s handicap limits the number of hours he is physically able to work and, as a result, doesn’t earn enough money to pay for everything and needs help. All his friends and co-workers are pitching in to help him pay for Sassy and we ask for your help too! Anything you can spare would be put directly into the “Sassy Fund” and will offset her cost and training expenses. Thank you all so much! I’ve been really worried about my dad’s future and hopefully, we can raise enough to ‘hire’ Sassy! That's me in the first picture and Sassy in the second. That's me and my dad in the cover photo. Our friend Matt is helping me with this campaign so that's why you see his name here.
