Angela’s Dog Bite Recovery Fund

Hello all. My name is Amanda. A little over a month ago, a really terrible thing happened to my amazing friend Angela. As a result, she has experienced extreme mental and physical pain, along with many other unexpected financial hardships. This Go Fund Me was put together to assist with the wonderful emotional support Angela has received thus far. Please hear her story…
“My name is Angela and I want to start by thanking those close to me for their well wishes, cards and kind thoughts. For those of you unaware, please take a moment to read my story: On the evening of May 23, 2022, I experienced a level of terror no one should ever be victim to. What happened next is tremendously difficult to recount. Gruesome and horrifying, I was mauled in the face by a Rottweiler who’s identity is unknown to me. Rushed by ambulance to the nearest trauma hospital, I spent nearly 8 hours seated upright in the ED awaiting care as I sat alone with blood loss and immense pain unable to have a family member visit from the waiting room. In and out of consciousness, I understood I suffered a complex nose fracture, facial lacerations that exposed both bone and cartilage, and additional head injuries that remain unresolved. Several dozen stitches were applied on and within my skin and scalp and additional packing was placed in my nose to control the bleeding. In the hours and days that followed, I was seen by a local plastic surgeon who had to remove all my stitches as they were done incorrectly, then restitch my face bringing the total count closer to 100. Unaware of the dogs vaccination status, I received a 4-course rabies vaccine over the next 14 days. In the days and weeks following, my sisters and I compiled a dedicated medical team overseeing my recovery and longer-term recuperation. Since the attack, I’ve had countless doctor appointments including an ENT and oral surgeon for my broken nose, as well as receiving laser treatments for the significant forehead and nose scars that will live with me. All of this has cost me thousands of dollars in copays, medications, and being out of work.
Please consider donating as I continue to navigate both physical and emotional scars caused by this vicious attack on the long and painful journey ahead of me toward recovery. As difficult as it is asking for help, that is exactly what I am asking at this time.”
