Join the Savages’ Fight Against Cancer

Hi, I’m Stella, and I’m fundraising for my parents- Stone and Diana Savage. 

Last July, Diana’s CT scan for hip pain revealed several tumors in her abdomen, and eventually lead to a diagnosis of Stage 4 Metastatic Pancreatic Cancer. She’s been receiving chemotherapy every three weeks ever since.

Then, in January, Stoney noticed an usual shortness of breath and within weeks was rushed in for a quintuple bypass surgery. We’re so lucky they caught it when they did, but he’s got a long recovery ahead. 

Since the start of the pandemic, my parents’ small business has managed to stay afloat, but hours and offerings have been reduced. Various procedures and recovery times have meant that periodically they’ve had to close up for several days at a time.

All of this has contributed to significant financial pressure, and as medical bills accrue and more expensive treatments remain on the horizon, they find themselves needing additional support.

But there’s also been some happy news for the Savages over this time. I found out I was pregnant with my first child, Preston, about a month before my mom’s diagnosis, and he was born days before my dad’s surgery in February. In May, I uprooted my family from Austin and moved to Dallas to be closer to my parents, and spending time with their grandson has helped lift their spirits.

So many close friends and family have gone above and beyond to help support my parents by providing rides to appointments, home cooked meals, and more. If you are able, thank you for considering a contribution of any amount.
