Savannah's Cancer Treatments and Medical Expenses

Donation protected
Hi guys, Savannah here. So bit of a life update...
As many of you know, John and I have been trying to have a baby for five years. We finally decided to get medical help, and so I made a doctor's appointment. That was when the doctor told me they found a large mass in my uterus and that I would need surgery to remove it.
We booked the surgery, hopeful that afterward, we could resume our journey to becoming parents. However, on the day of the surgery, the doctor informed my husband that what they thought was one mass was multiple. So they sent the masses off for testing, and I had a follow-up appointment two weeks later. That was the day our life made a dramatic change.
"You have endometrial cancer" is not really the words a twenty-five-year-old wants to hear, especially when trying to have a baby. But, looking back on that day, I can only remember my husband's face. Pale, panicked, and angry. I was bargaining with the doctor about still trying to have the baby we have prayed for for five years. It took me a bit longer than he did to realize what the doctor was saying.
He did say that it is a slow-growing cancer and that we caught it early. However, I knew that the frontline treatment for this type of cancer is a hysterectomy. This is because 95% of patients diagnosed are women over 55 and have already gone through menopause. In addition, estrogen affects how quickly it grows, and I am an obese woman with PCOS, so I have A LOT of estrogen inside me. As a result, my doctor also told me he recommends weight loss surgery to help slow cancer growth.
So after weeks of flip-flopping through the five stages of grief, I think I have finally landed on acceptance; not that this is my fate, but rather just a part of the journey.
We heard back from MD Anderson and were informed that they do not take my insurance. The initial consultation alone was going to cost $2000... NO, THANK YOU. So we are waiting for another referral to a different Gynecological Oncologist within my network.
We're not sure what the actual cost of my treatments will be. But we are anticipating it to be quite expensive. So if you find it in your heart to give, thank you. Even if you don't, thank you for reading. Any donations will be going towards medical expenses.
Please share this, and thank you in advance; we are eternally grateful.
