On Monday, June 10th, our family learned of my sister’s passing.
Savannah, also known as Booney, was Tábąąhá (Edge Water) Hónágháahnii (One Who Walks Around) Táchnii'nii (Red Running into Water) Tódích'ii'nii (Bitter Water). Daughter of the Emily Begay and the late Joe T. Begay, Sr. Born December 12, 1986.
Daughter, sister, mommy, niece, auntie, grandma, friend, sundancer, singer, teacher, student, waitress, artist, jokester, activist, water protector, d.j. … Savannah was a free spirit. She had a passion for singing for the people and helping anyone she could. She loved to go to ceremonies and used her voice as her medicine. Savannah loved and supported all artists she came across, especially music artists. There are many who have come to call her sister, niece, and auntie. She made relations with everyone who came in her path. She was loved by many.
Savannah was always smiling and laughing. She liked to tease and joke.
Savannah leaves behind her daughters, Holly (18) and Grace (13), whom both have their mom’s beauty and carefree spirit.
GOAL:
Bring Savannah home to be laid to rest next her to daddy, Joe Tom Begay, Sr.
We will be bringing her from South Dakota/Nebraska back to the Pinon, Az.
Our family is truly thankful to everyone who has reached out to us during this time. We ask for continued prayers for strength and comfort. And Thank you in advance for any and all donations.
