Savarino Garcia Cancer Fund -Sal/Sav

April 2014, Sav was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. At that time he was given a few months to live. They started him on chemotherapy and he fought hard, trying to be as healthy as he could be, walking daily and stayed focused on the fight.
June 2016, the cancer spread to the brain. Radiation shrunk the brain cancer, however the lung cancer has grown and now the brain cancer is slowly growing back.
He was admitted to the hospital late Saturday night with what was thought to be pneumonia. He has now been told that the lung cancer has progressed and that there are no more treatment options available. With that being said, it's time to stop chemotherapy (and all therapies for the cancer) and focus on his quality of life for the remainder of his days.
Savarino aka Sal and Sav, is well known for his successful boxing career. He trained many kids as well over the years and took many kids into heart and home. Our family remains hopeful that he is going to keep fighting. In the meantime, the bills are piling up and we need to get some money raised for funeral services for when that time comes.
