Save a Seat for Kristin

UPDATE: 12/07/2020 from Ron Cantrell, Kristin's father

Kristin Renee Cantrell Hill
November 19, 1977 - December 7, 2020
Rest in Peace our sweet angel. Daddy & your entire family and friends will love you forever... "up to the sky."
We will see you on the other side.

Kristin Cantrell Hill is an incredible, bright, compassionate nurse, #1 Dave Matthews fan, friend, sister, daughter, and mother.

She was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor on November 20th, the day after her 43rd birthday. The disease has progressed more rapidly than anyone expected. On December 3rd, Kristin was transferred to inpatient hospice care. She is being made comfortable, has loved ones at her side, and so much love sent from afar.

Earlier this week, Kristin asked her mother to promise to continue to take her daughters to see performances at the Aronoff Center for the Arts here in Cincinnati. It is one of their cherished traditions together. We know that so many will carry Kristin in their hearts, but we'd like to share the comfort of her presence with her daughters in the future. For this reason, we are raising funds in order to make a donation to the center earning a memorial plaque with Kristin's name on a seat in the theatre. This way she may remain a permanent part of this tradition.

Information about the "Name a Seat Campaign" can be found here:

How we are saving a seat for Kristin

Remaining funds will go toward any of Kristin's expenses and the care of her daughters.

Kristin has worked at TriHealth since 2007. Even her mom is a TriHealth employee in 2 different positions. This is a family that is established on values of servanthood and love. Kristin spent many years in Mom/Baby at Bethesda North Hospital, first as a Medical Assistant, then as a RN. This is where she discovered a soft spot for providing compassionate care to new mothers battling substance use disorders. Later, she spent some time behind the scenes in Utilization Review. At the beginning of 2020, began a new position in the Addiction Services connecting individuals at their most vulnerable to care. Her parents say she lit up when talking about her new position and felt "she finally found her calling." She was looking forward to the future and growing this passion. Everywhere she's been, Kristin made friends. She embraces each interaction with kindness, gentility, and humor.

2020 has been hard for everyone, but Kristin has been optimistic even in hardship. She was looking forward to which concerts she would be attending next year, moving into a new home, and continuing to see her daughters grow and thrive.

Meanwhile, she's a constant adoring mother to her 3 girls and 1 step son ranging in age from 24 to 10: Donavan, Becca, Reese, and Reagan. She's so proud of Becca in her second year at OSU, and they describe each other as best friends. She's been strong while her daughter, Reese, has fought with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Whenever I seen Kristin, she always has a funny story or anecdote about her daughter, Reagan, to share.

Please consider making a donation or sharing this fundraiser with others. If you're unable, thoughts and prayers are so appreciated by Kristin and her family.
