Save a Sudanese Family Fleeing War
Donation protected
In April 2023, a civil war erupted in Sudan between two state militias: the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces. This conflict has resulted in numerous civilian casualties, the displacement of over one million people, and widespread devastation.
We are raising funds to rescue a Sudanese family of four - a mother, father, and two sons - who are caught in the midst of this war.
Due to starvation, the family was forced to abandon their home. A water station in their district was bombed by armed forces, leaving them without access to clean water for days. Nearby supermarkets were raided, depriving them of essential food supplies. The family has now sought temporary refuge with distant relatives to meet their basic needs. However, when they attempted to return home, they discovered their property seized by armed militias, and all their belongings completely gone. They are now left with no financial resources or possessions. Without our support and fundraising, they simply will not be able to escape this life-threatening situation.
Every day that passes is a risk to their lives, either by murder at the hands of the militias or starvation. Making matters worse, both parents are of old age with chronic illnesses, and they are out of essential medications, which poses an additional risk to their lives. As well, the family's travel documents were taken along with their belongings, resulting in additional expenses associated with their journey.
We appeal to everyone reading this to donate anything you can. By contributing, you can help this family secure their safety and escape from this violence.
All donations received will be allocated towards the family's travel expenses and ensuring their immediate access to food and water.
Please join us in our efforts to save this family. Your contribution, regardless of its size, can help save their lives.
