Once in a while, a conservation and a social issue arises that brings united opposition. One such issue is Cobb's Hill Village, the proposed planned demolition of 60 existing apartments affordable to seniors with extremely low and low incomes. The replacement, a 104 unit apartment complex, (with higher rents) comprised of two and three story buildings, smack in the middle one of Rochester most used and historic parks, Cobb's Hill Park.
We were disappointed with and are appealing the Monroe County Supreme Court's decisions that would set in motion events that diminishes housing stock for seniors with limited incomes and permanently harms the beautiful, natural environment in Cobb's Hill Park .
We are taking our fight to the New York State Appellate Division.
Funding to continue this battle and the court appeal are needed. A reversal of the lower court's decision will ensure preservation of truly affordable senior housing and protect Cobb's Hill Park.
The Coalition for Cobb's Hill is prepared and with your help we can change the way development is done; without displacement and with community input.
We aren't quitting, but we need your help now. Please donate what you can. Help preserve this much needed housing and protect our park
Thank you,
