We are reaching out with a heartfelt plea to help support The Akpe Cultural Center in Kokrobite, Ghana. Located in this vibrant coastal village, our center has become a beacon of hope and unity for children in the community. Through dance, drumming, cultural education, and shared meals, we have fostered a space where young people not only learn about their rich African heritage but also grow together as a close-knit family.

Why We Need Your Help:

Since its inception, our center has been a hub for children to come together, learn, and stay safe. We’ve taught traditional African dance and drumming, sharing the deep-rooted rhythms and movements that are part of the cultural identity of the African people. We’ve provided classes that teach the native history and customs, and have offered a safe environment for children to gather, away from the streets, where they can enjoy nourishing meals and learn from elders.

However, without the necessary funds to keep the doors open, we are at risk of losing this space—a place that has given children a sense of community, belonging, and purpose. Without your support, the center will be forced to close, leaving these children without a safe haven or the opportunity to continue learning about their culture.
