Keep Central Park, Kenora
Donation protected
The city of Kenora wanted to rezone and violate their Official Plan to sell to a private developer on a 100 year old public park/green space. This private developer was to build ‘affordable housing’ but the terms of affordable could not be clarified. Moreover, the local taxpayers in this historic area were not consulted. Any redevelopment should benefit the present rate payers and the citizens of Kenora were not adequately consulted. Public assets like parks should not be sold for private profit.
The Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) ruled in my favour. In order to save a park, I hired a lawyer and the retainer fee was $3,357. The two day hearing fee was $10,594.
Please help me pay these legal fees.
