Save An Artist: Sitar Maestro Krishna Mohan Bhatt!

Pandit Krishna Bhatt is a true Master of Sitar and a wonderful human being. He is known for his original, highly aesthetic style of playing, and his homemade curries! Incredibly generous with his time and knowledge of music, he is beloved by music lovers around the world. He has been the love of my life since 2001.

But on February 10th 2024, while on a taxi ride from New Delhi to Jaipur in India, our car veered off the express highway going 120km/hr and everything went black.

Krishna suffered a concussion and completely fractured his tibia in two places. And while recuperating from his surgery to his leg, he caught a serious bacterial pneumonia infection that had him delirious with fever for several days.

The concussion left one of his eyes unable to move to one side, and while he is coherent, we are still investigating the extent of the impact on his brain.

While I was discharged from the hospital after 2 days, Krishna has been hospitalized for nearly two weeks now. Medical bills are mounting every day from expensive stays in the ICU unit, and all the scans and test that must be done.

I am struggling to keep his hopes up for full recovery to his former glory, and want to ease his burden as much as possible.

Many of our friends and well wishers have asked what they can do in this devastating hour of need.

Easing his financial burden would definitely help, because not only is Krishna is faced with a major health challenge, but also a financial challenge.

He has always been a pure artist, never putting money above his art.

But right now, he needs support in the form of money to get back on on his feet, literally.
