Help Arlo get his life back with IVDD surgery
Donation protected
My best friend and soul dog, Arlo, was recently diagnosed with IVDD or Intevertebral Disc Disease. He’s been on strict crate rest for the last 8 weeks. It’s been heartbreaking to keep him from everything he loves - people, other dogs, toys, hikes, chasing squirrels, and snuggling.
We took him to a neurologist and he is not showing any signs of neurological damage, but any wrong move could lead to paralyzation, so we’ve been keeping him safe and doing our best to keep him entertained without having him move at all (lots of dogtv on Youtube).
Unfortunately, the crate rest did not heal his back and he’s still showing signs of pain when his meds wear off. This means, we have two options: he stays medicated in a crate forever or he gets a surgery that can repair his back and get him back to his regular life.
Good news, surgery has a 90% success rate. Bad news, it can cost from $15-20,000 which we cannot afford. My little man deserves a better quality of life and with the high success rate, I can’t just let him wither away. It would take us awhile to save up the money and by that point, the condition could worsen.
Any donation to Arlo’s surgery means more than you know. He’s been with me through so much and has been such a light in my life that I owe it to him to do everything I can to heal his back. I know I am the crazy woman that is too obsessed with her dog, but anyone that knows Arlo, can tell you how special he is.
If we raise more than we need, the rest of the money will be donated to other IVDD dogs in need
