Hello, my name is Paula from France, and I'm reaching out to you today to support Asmaa and her family through a fundraising initiative. Asmaa reached out to me on Instagram, and her story has deeply touched me.
Before the onset of the war, Asmaa was not only a dedicated nurse but also owned a fitness center where she provided care to patients with special needs. Her commitment to helping others was evident in every aspect of her life.
However, the current circumstances have turned her world upside down. Asmaa and her family are facing unimaginable challenges, struggling to survive amidst the chaos of conflict. It is heartbreaking to witness the plight of someone who has dedicated their life to serving others, now in desperate need of assistance themselves.
My goal is to raise funds to support Asmaa and her family in escaping this nightmare and starting afresh in a safe environment. Together, we can provide them with the opportunity to rebuild their lives and continue their noble mission of making a difference in the world. Through our collective efforts, we have also managed to get Asmaa's story to be published on Opolivebranch which has been boosting the donations, but we need to do more and every little helps !
I urge you to join me in this endeavour by contributing to the fundraising link provided. Together, we can offer hope and a chance for a better future to Asmaa and her loved ones. Let's come together as a community to show compassion and solidarity in times of need.
Thank you for your support and generosity.
Below is her devastating story.
Hello, my name is Asmaa Soliman Abu Omra, I am 25 years old, a nurse and a fitness trainer & fitness center owner.
I owned a fitness center to help patients and people with special needs before the war was bombed from Gaza. On the main background photo, you can also see my mother Faiza.
We lived a warm life in Gaza. The life that we worked hard to build during the past 25 years of struggle with my mother alone. My father died when I was an infant in Gaza City, and it seems that life in my city has become impossible now.
Our story since the war started :
It hurts to say that we have lost everything. But yes we did! We lost our beautiful homeland with all its memories, we lost our jobs, we lost our lives and our dreams.
We evacuated our house with only a small bag of clothes before it was completely bombed. So, yes technically we have lost everything, from the biggest detail to the smallest.
We have been through terrible situations. I never thought that one day I would go through what we are going through. This is a nightmare I haven't started to process as it is still happening.
Below is a picture of where our house used to be.
How the funds will be used :
With the money we are raising, we would like to escape to Egypt and it costs on average 15,000 USD per person to do so. It is crazy to know that travel agencies are making money on behalf of war refugee but this is the sad reality and we need you to escape as soon as possible.
My mother also need an eye operation urgently, as I speak, her health condition is decreasing tremendously. We need some help to evacuate her now.
This is my family and where we live now :
My plans and hope for the future :
I just love my job, being nurse and serve patients so they can recover from illness, injuries and feel confident in their mind and body. This is what I was doing before the war with my patients but also in my fitness center.
What keeps me going during the war time is to keep nurturing hopes that we will escape safely with my family and that I will be able to open a fitness center in Egypt, or wherever safe life will take us.
I want to continue to serve patients and people with special needs and conditions. This is why God created.
My extended family needs me :
As a young nurse and without kid, I am the go-to person in my family and in my community. I am trying to constantly keep the spirits high in order to maintain hopes. But it is not easy everyday.
This is my niece Hiyam. She is 10 years old. Before the war, she was living with her family in a peaceful house with my family. She and her family lost everything in the war. They now live under tents and is always hungry. Her eyes are yellow due to malnutrition. "I wish I had a home and my family with me. Oh world, we are tired. Please feel for me. People are dying in front of me because of hunger. Help us."
I sincerely hope you will be to sense my devotion through this text. Below are some of my patients, results before and after.
