SAVE our Bayshore Ice Rink

Please help us save our beloved Bayshore
Community Ice Rink. 

As some of you have heard, the outdoor ice 
rink at Bayshore Elementary was deemed 
unsafe and removed by Anchorage School
District in August of this year.  Since then, we
have created a committee to facilitate the 
replacement and have been very busy
working on plans to update our beloved
Bayshore Rink.

It is important to us that we not only provide
an ice rink for  our community, but also a space
that can be used safely all year round by our
Bayshore teachers as well as the community.
With the potential loss of our municipal rinks,
the closure of schools, and children’s limited
access in the winter to healthy physical 
activities, it is crucial that we press hard as a 
community to SAVE BAYSHORE ICE RINK!

As much as we loved our rink Anchorage 
School District wasted no time in removing it.
As disappointing as that is, it presents us with an opportunity to replace the rink with a
better product that will last another
generation and give us pride in our school and
community.

We have been working on the purchase of a 
rink made with modern materials and built to
today’s standards for heavily used outdoor
rinks.  We need to secure funding for not only
the rink itself, but also the concrete
foundational curb to mount it, rink
installation, and any asphalt that may need to be done.

All donations, the purchasing of the rink and
associated costs, will be through Bayshore PTA.
We want the utmost transparency for every 
portion of this project.  Any remaining funds
will be donated to the Bayshore PTA to offset
cost of rink maintenance.

We THANK YOU for your help in getting this
rink replaced. We know that this rink space
will provide our community, our Bayshore
teachers, and mostly our kids with a safe and
fun recreational place for the winter and
summer.
