Save Blairsville Historic Home

My name is Peggy Davis and my historic home suffered fire damage on Sunday morning, December 3, 2023. This is the Reid-Sampson house built in 1853 in downtown Blairsville, Georgia. The swift response of the Union County Fire Department saved the bulk of the structure for which I am ever so thankful.

However, there is considerable fire, smoke and water damage to the home and its contents and there was no insurance on the house after the existing policy was cancelled by the insurer.

As reported in the North Georgia News, firefighters successfully contained the fire to the back side addition but had to use chainsaws on the roof to gain entry to the attic space.

I need your help. I am determined to repair and save this home as I believe it is one of the jewels of historic Blairsville and Union County. Any donation you can make would be greatly appreciated and will go toward reconstruction and refurbishing this property.
