Blyth Spartans Floodlight Fund
Donation protected
We are thrilled to finally reveal the details of our ‘Floodlight Fund’ as we look to raise £27,000 to help replace the floodlights at Croft Park.
In recent years, the floodlights at Croft Park have become dated and costly to maintain, with repairs being needed on a regular basis - while energy bills have soared, costing the club a small fortune.
In the future those costs are set to increase, as energy prices continue to rise and component parts for metal halide systems become more expensive to purchase and become more difficult to source.
A switch to brand new LED floodlights would be beneficial in a number of ways - with Some LED systems consuming 50% less energy than an older system. This of course will help save the club thousands of pounds a year in both energy bills and maintenance fee’s, as LED systems are much cheaper and easier to maintain than metal halide systems. As well as that, an LED system would be much better for the environment - with much less CO2 being emitted.
With grants from the Football Foundation available, upwards of 70% of the cost of these new floodlights will be funded via subsidies. That of course leaves the football club to fund the remaining 30% - which is estimated to be around £27,000.
On behalf of the football club, the Supporters Trust have agreed to take on the responsibility of fundraising the £27,000 needed to install the new floodlights.
As well as launching this GoFundMe, over the coming weeks and months we will be looking to host several fundraising events and activities, in a bid to raise the required funds.
Regardless of how big or small your contribution might be, everyone at the football club are eternally grateful for every single donation that is made.
