For the past year Body Temp has been closed due to city, state and federal mandates. For a good reason. However, unlike restaurants we were not considered an essential business so we were forced to be closed for most of the past 13 months. We have been paying 50% of our rent during the entire pandemic but our landlord is now requesting full payment of all rent owed. We were hoping for forgiveness but that's not going to happen.   As a result, we find ourselves owing our landlord over $50,000 in back rent. The struggle is real.

Our landlord is requesting a downpayment in June and full rent along with extra rent to help repay the remaining 50% rent owed during closure of the pandemic. We need your help.

Since 2012, Body Temp Yoga has been a true San Francisco small business with the mission of providing good quality yoga and wellness classes at an affordable cost. Body Temp is part of a dying breed of true San Francisco small yoga studios that are is not run and owned by a board of investors or is part of a national franchise chain. We have personality. We have character. I, Chadd Schaefer, am not only the owner but am also a full time instructor. Our vibe is and always will be one of a light-hearted ,easy going studio that welcomes everyone with open arms.

As our reopening is limited capacity and people are hesitant to return until masks are no longer required in classes, we have earned but a fraction of what we used to make. Currently, I (along with co-owner Rikk and my wife Jody) are teaching classes for free as we aren't anywhere close to earning enough money to pay ourselves.

People are returning slowly. And it feels amazing to teach classes again. And we are certain we can survive these final months of the pandemic. But we need your help to get us to the finish line and remain one of the most affordable and laid-back yoga studios in San Francisco.

I, Chadd,  am the owner of Body Temp Yoga and as such ensure all the Go Fund Me funds will go towards the following:
* payment of unpaid back rent (75% of donations are for this)
* payroll so we can remain open as a business -- we have been running classes since March without getting paid (20% of donations)
* if we cross our goal we will get a new touchless water fountain! (5% of donation if goal reached)

Your donation will go directly from Go Fund Me straight into the Body Temp business bank account.  No intermediaries.
