Save Public Tennis in Boulder!!!
Donation protected
As Boulder’s tennis community continues to grow, instead of gaining courts, we are losing them at an alarming rate! RMTC is gone to redevelopment, SoBo Rec Center to pickleball, and CU South courts will follow soon.
In order to hold our City and County officials accountable, we plan to publish an open letter to the City Council, doing it as a full page display in the Daily Camera.
Of course, getting a full page in the Daily Camera doesn’t come cheap. So if you are able, please help save Boulder tennis by contributing via the donation button on the right side of this GoFundMe page.
If you don’t feel comfortable contributing but want to add your voice, use the link below to sign our Change.Org petition:
By contributing here and/or signing the petition, you are consenting to have your name attached to the open letter.
Please share this page with whomever you think might be interested in helping our cause.
Whether you sign the petition, donate to get the open letter published, or ideally both, we thank you for helping to support public tennis in Boulder Colorado!

New to this issue and wondering why we're so upset? Here's why:
- Boulder has abandoned its public tennis community by allowing demolition of 27 courts, including the only publicly-accessible winter courts. Now, only people who belong to country clubs can play year round.
- Although the city has long known this crisis was coming and Parks & Rec has endlessly studied and debated for over 3 years, they are barely beyond the planning phase to replace the cratered court supply.
- The actions of our public servants are both shameful and hypocritical; they say Boulder is about equity and access but ignore the real needs of the families, seniors, wheelchair players and thousands of regular folks who thrive on tennis for mental and physical health and well-being. In short, they are turning tennis into a country club sport.
- It is time for the city to stop talking and act. We need winter courts and new outdoor facilities, and we need them now. Stop stringing us along!
