Save Boulevard Recording Studio

Hi, my name is Jennifer Gerber and I'm trying to raise funds to help my sister and her family during a very difficult time. My brother-in-law, Clay Blair, owns the historic recording studio Boulevard Recording in Hollywood; it's the family's main source of income. The studio has been making musical history since the ’70s: Ringo Starr, Elton John, Carly Simon, Billy Preston, Art Garfunkel, Alice Cooper, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan and Ray Charles have all recorded there. More recently the studio has done records with War on Drugs, Sleater Kinney, Local Natives, Mandy Moore, Richard Thompson, The Cult, Mike Viola, Dawes, and many more. But on Nov. 21, 2021 the studio was nearly destroyed in a fire.
While insurance will cover some of the damage, the studio will be unusable for some time as it undergoes extensive repairs. Clay and my sister Lizzy would never ask for help, but I've established this page in the hope that friends and family--and music fans!--will chip in to help rebuild the studio, allowing the family to make a reliable livelihood.
Clay is the most loving father to his 2-year-old, Eleanor, and the hardest-working person I know. When COVID-19 restrictions prohibited him from booking musicians, he and Lizzy launched a side BBQ business to sustain their family. Just as it's now safer to bring musicians into the studio again, tragedy struck, bringing more financial insecurity.
Please help rebuild this historic studio so that Clay can get back to doing what he loves and provide for his family.
