Save Bucksburn Swimming Pool!

Please help support our campaign to keep Bucksburn Swimming Pool open.

Sport Aberdeen is closing Bucksburn Swimming Pool on April 16th due to reduction in funding from Aberdeen City Council and escalating energy bills.

Bucksburn is a fully-utilised 25m swimming pool at the heart of the thriving community of Bucksburn on the north outskirts of Aberdeen. It is currently the home for swimming activities for:

- 100 additional support needs students from across Aberdeen City, at the Bucksburn Academy ASN Wing
- the 77-member Bucksburn Amateur Swimming Club which trains 4 times a week and regularly competes in competitions across Aberdeen
- 900 participants in the Aberdeen Aquatics learn-to-swim programme, from babies to adults
- Aqua Aerobics and Active Lifestyles swimming
- 30 hours a week of public swimming sessions, which are often operating at capacity
- the only pool in Aberdeen with stepped access to the shallow end, enabling use by participants with restricted mobility

Any support towards our campaign would be gratefully received and any surplus funds will be used towards pool upgrades or organisations working with our users within the Bucksburn community.
