Save Candy Cane Hill in New Glarus, Wisconsin!

Generations of kids have spent many a snowy winter day sledding down "Killer Hill" next to Candy Cane Park in New Glarus. Although the park is owned by the Village, the sledding hill is privately owned and was recently for sale. Our goal is to raise funds to keep it as a permanent public sledding hill and greenspace.

“New Glarus Cares” Community Foundation, Inc. was organized late last year to raise funds to support the purchase of the greenspace near Candy Cane Park including the sledding hill, which was listed for sale by Shepherd of the Hills Church. New Glarus Cares is partnering with Only in Wisconsin Giving Foundation, the charitable arm of New Glarus Brewing Company, which has generously agreed to match our fundraising efforts.

We need to raise $75,000 total with another $75,000 in matching donations, for a total of $150,000. We have already raised over $40,000 through donations made directly at the Bank of New Glarus and through our website, NewGlarusCares.com! We would also like to thank those "offline" donors:
