Save Canterbury Shakespeare Festival (a local CIC)
Donation protected
The Canterbury Shakespeare Festival is a project designed to put on Shakespearean plays that are fun and exciting to the public. It began in 2015 with just two shows joining together members of the public: students and locals to dazzle and entertain their audiences. Since then, through the perseverance of the original vision and pure love of Shakespeare, the festival has grown, producing five-six plays per summer season, in multiple, stunning locations, all over Canterbury. We provide not only opportunities to stage plays written by Shakespeare but original pieces as well as other early modern playwrights.
Unfortunately with the hit of the pandemic, the future of the festival is in danger with a return of next year being quite uncertain. As we are a CIC (community interest company) we can't apply for any of the funding opportunities that are currently being provided by the Arts Council therefore we are turning to the community for help.
