Save Capogiro - Keep Philly Sweet
Donation protected
Thanks to Everyone who have already donated,
From talking to Stephanie, she is overwhelmed by the support and love the community has shown her. If we want to give her and Capogiro the beautiful Christmas miracle they deserve, everyone's support would be needed. See below for the full story and make a donation today.
After 16 years of serving up the best gelato many of us have ever tasted, Capogiro shut down all operations Sunday 12/9/2018. Their communication to media says that they are closing due to losses suffered as a result of the old city fire earlier this year.
In addition:
"Sadly for its many fans, Capogiro may be gone forever — and if it does return, Philly might not be where. The Reitanos will lose their house because of the financial difficulties, and their youngest son is about to graduate from high school, so there’s nothing really keeping them in the city."

This is what spurred me to action. I’ve never done a campaign like this but I have to believe that there are enough people like myself who can not imagine Capogiro going away after so many sweet memories. Stephanie Reitano (owner) has endorsed this campaign, and is in the process of getting set up to receive all proceeds of this campaign.
I am not personally affiliated with the owners of Capogiro and this campaign should have no expectations of outcome other than a possibility to maybe save Capogiro. I will stay on to administrate this campaign as long as Stephanie wishes. This means if the owners decide not to reopen in the Philly area, we as fans must respect their wishes. After all they must do what is right by their family first and foremost. In any case, regardless of their next steps, these funds will hopefully get them through what is undoubtedly a trying time and express our gratitude for the many years of joy they've brought to us.
Come join me as we attempt to save this Philadelphia treasure and give the Reitanos a helping hand since they've given us so much over the years. God bless and happy holidays.
**Please share this campaign by facebook or twitter or tell your friends and family in person or email, if you know anyone in media pass on the campaign to help us get the word out. Thank you.**
Gofundme required info:
1. My name is Bo Wang and I live in West Chester Pennsylvania but used to live 1 block away from the Rittenhouse location of Capogiro.
2. I have no direct connection to the Reitanos but have grown up with Capogiro from almost the beginning about 13 years ago.
3. These funds are intended to help the Reitanos with any financial difficulty that resulted from their operation of Capogiro, but the owners will have 100% discretion how to dispose of these funds.
4. It is intended for the Reitano's to be added to this campaign as administrators and so they can make direct withdraws and have full editorial control of updates, duration, information, $ amount sought...
