Our business is a constant hustle. In very simple terms, we have big parties and events to raise money to release music and expand our brand. Without that stream of revenue, we’ve had to find other ways to pay our bills. Over the years, we've acquired a lot of things that help us run events efficiently. Since COVID-19 hit, we have sold off our cargo trailer and paid off our debts in order to reduce our monthly expenses. The thought of selling off our event equipment just to stay afloat as a business is disheartening, and that’s what we're faced with right now.
We currently have about enough money in the bank to sustain for 3-4 months without going into debt or selling off any more of our equipment. We had high hopes of being able to get back to what we love by this point in the year, but that's not going to happen. Honestly, we're probably going to be the last crew to come back to throwing shows. Gary has two kids at home, and Caroline is immuno-compromised. That's not a risk that we're willing to take, and one we wouldn’t ask you to take either. So, our only hope now is that our extended fam will come in and help. Our inbox is full of records that artists want to release with us, and we'd love to see that happen. So we’re asking for your help.
We’ve got a 3 tiered campaign worked up.
Tier 1- If we raise $2500, which is roughly our yearly costs for our llc, subscriptions, storage unit, etc. This amount would allow us to float by, but we wouldn’t be able to invest in any releases.
Tier 2- If we raise $5000, we would be able to float for a whole year, plus have a budget to keep releasing music. (Trust us, it’s great stuff.)
Tier 3- If we raise $7500, we could do everything from tiers 1+2, plus we’ll release a full length VINYL SAMPLER with some of our favorite regional bands. All donors that contribute $50 or more will get a copy for free. Since it would already be paid for, we will donate all revenue from the vinyl to local groups making a positive impact in our community, drkmttr and The People’s Plaza. The vinyl sampler release is contingent on us hitting the tier 3 goal.
Thank you for allowing us to do what we love to do: listen to great music, throw fun parties, and build community. And thank you for helping us sustain during this time.
