Save Crescent Road, E18 - Urgent Appeal!

City Plumbing Limited who currently have a commercial unit on Raven Road industrial park are planning to tear down this unit and build a new unit but with the addition of 18 flats on top in Raven Road. However rather than have the parking and access in Raven road commercial park, where the property is actually built they are proposing to remove numerous trees and create access and parking for the 18 flats in the road behind it. This road, Crescent road currently sits approx 20ft higher up behind a wall of tress & vegetation and is a quiet street with victorian family houses on.

The area impacted on Crescent Road is currently a single sided victorian terrace street with yellow brick and red brick houses full of character in the area they are planning to develop.

This development will potentially have the following negatives impacts on Crescent Road and the surrounding area:

- Impact on parking in the street as the 18 flats will have insufficient parking.

- Impact on already stretched local schools, nurseries and services in the local and surrounding areas.

- Once approved likely lead to further flats being build in the whole of the commercial area in Raven road which will further impact local services and transport links.

- Not in character or keeping with the traditional Victorian red and yellow brick houses currently in the road.

- Removal of trees and vegetation in crescent road and at the back of Raven park commercial which help to reduce already bad air pollution

- Crescent road should not be the access or parking means for a property that is being built in a separate business park in the Raven Road area. All access and parking should be provided in the Ravens road commercial park which has enough space and already existing access and road capacity for the property. The Crescent Roads residential area should not suffer for the commercial park owners gain.

Crescent road is a lovely victorian street with two child nurseries nearby (one on the street/one at the end of the street) and families living on the street. It would be a real shame to allow this development to impact the safely of the children and the beautiful green space that currently exists on that side of the street for more flats.

We need to act fast to employ Solicitors with taking immediate action before it is too late. Any donations to assist with our plea will be very much appreciated. Thank you kindly in advance.
