Laurel Elementary community and friends,
Our school needs your help.
There's a budget crisis at Oakland Unified School District, forcing Laurel to cut $64,000 from this year's school budget -- roughly $121 per student.
These cuts will happen in the next few weeks and will affect all Laurel students. We are at risk of losing essential and much-loved staff and programs like our:
- Librarian
- Computer teacher
- Teaching coach
- Playworks program and coach
- Lincoln Behavioral Services
The Laurel PTA is asking that we as a community come together to raise the money to save our critical programs and services.
You can help.
Please give what you can. Please ask your family, friends, neighbors, local businesses, and others in your circle to support our school.
Together, as a community, we can save the programs that help make Laurel amazing.
