Your donations will be used to hire 3rd party environmental experts to create an alternative plan to balance conservation and recreation on Duxbury Beach.

Duxbury Beach is a huge asset to our lives; 83% of residents state that it is the Town’s greatest asset.

For 100 years, there was a balance between two fundamental principles: environmental preservation and human recreation. In recent years, there has been an imbalance. Worse, we fear there has been deception that has contributed to the imbalance. In fact, in 2021, the word “recreation” was stricken from the publicly stated mission of the DBR. Just this year, we believe measures were taken to encourage plovers to nest near crossovers; an intentional effort to close the beach to over-sand recreation.

Make a meaningful gift so our nonprofit organization can fund the expenses necessary to shine a light on the inner workings of the DBR for the purposes of public accountability. When balance has been restored, and the Town’s greatest asset is once more able to be enjoyed as it has for 100 years, we will rest. Until then, we must not.
