Our beloved East Rosebud Lake and family is experiencing a huge loss together. Nature has decided to change things and Armstrong Creek is now flowing like a fan through a new huge rock field and the cabins below it. With many people pulling together, we’ve stemmed the tide for drastic flooding. But the river is high, the aquifer is saturated, and what was once dry is now wet. Spring time could bring another wave of flooding.
You might think the situation is complex and it is! Making matters worse, there is no longer a road to the lake complicating efforts to address the crisis. To know what to do requires that we have people with expertise in engineering and hydrology and more. And, we must do what work we can now to protect the lake before the spring snow melt.
We need your help to raise funds to hire hydrologists and begin work to restore Armstrong Creek. Experts can guide us on what work to begin now to protect the lake from further damage due to compromised septic systems, flooded outhouses, and potentially harmful debris that has washed into the lake from north side cabins.
If you have ever come to East Rosebud Lake, you know what a special place it is. Spectacular views and abundant wildlife are an everyday experience! You’ve likely fostered friendships bound together by a mutual love of our surroundings.
This place is worth fighting for! Please donate if you can!
