Save EMW Sanctuary from closure.

Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of Equine Market Watch (Sanctuaries UK) and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
**A DESPERATE SITUATION.**
How do we even begin to word a plea such as this one?
This is something that we never thought we would be facing.
The only way to explain in full and in confidence is give back history
which we will willingly, and with Bryan’s consent, but only to those
‘bodies’ who are in a position to be able to throw a lifeline to this charity.
In effect we are sadly at a serious and almost instantly happening
crisis point that will see the sanctuary closing and following that the
dissolving of the charity because to continue at the premises where
we have been for 24 years there is now an urgent need of an investment of 500k to save the sanctuary.
In times like these we know that is an impossible dream and we are
realistic in knowing that our residents, mostly elderly with issues,
would not cope - nor would it be right to expect them to cope - with
being split up and moved to completely different lifestyles away from
their long term home and friends.
There is no easy way to say this but in the event of having nowhere
to go that is suitable and right for their needs and that there is no
financial solution coming forth we would take the devastating
decision to have all residents gently PTS at their home. This is the
bottom line of what we are facing. You know we always tell the truth,
we always tell it like it is, this is the truth and this is what we face.
This plea is grasping at straws but right now straws are all we have
left as we come to terms with information relating to the precarious
financial position at the farm that we were only made aware of on
the evening of November 26th.
Please only respond if you are able to lifeboat this sanctuary and
charity out of this roughest of rough sea that we are floundering in.
As you can imagine we have already researched the internet but
finding a solution to this financial holocaust is pretty much impossible
and it tragically looks like the farm will have to be sold unless a miracle happens.
2024 is ending, for us, as it began, a terrible year full of stress and never ending worry. All that we have worked so hard for and held in high esteem we are facing losing.
I must also firmly stamp this upon here that the debt that has to be paid is not in anyway at all one incurred upon the farm by this charity, all the charity and sanctuary bills are paid straightaway and in full. The charity does not owe any monies anywhere at all.
The charity is financially solvent but not to the tune of £500k.
Sadly Trustee Bryan has himself only just discovered this horrific situation which now horribly impacts upon his own life and his home which is the farm as well as the sanctuary and this devastation coming straight on top of 2 years of nursing his wife of 47 years
through Cancer to her death earlier this year. Those who should have
been ensuring a peaceful old age for Bryan have caused a terrible situation for him and that has knocked on for this charity forcing us to have to make awful decisions ahead.
If we raise these funds, and that, as said above, is the world’s biggest
IF, then the forward plan is that the outstanding debt will be immediately paid and then the farm will safe but will then be legally gifted to and signed over, lock stock and barrel, to the charity where
it will remain as an asset and as such ring fenced for the future.
The full legalities of this would of course be dealt with by professional advisers and legal bodies in compliance with Charity Commission regulations.
So that is it. That’s what we are facing.
