 Save Fonmon Pond
Fonmon pond is a huge and historical part of our community in Rhoose. It holds dear many memories to the community and we would like it to continue to thrive so that future generations can enjoy its beauty for years to come.
The pond is in desperate need of repair to save the ducks and other wildlife in and around it. The area around the pond is a listed site so all work has to be to certain regulations and specifications.
The work include site clearance of the pond, repair work on the walls, management of the current Fauna, wildlife and trees during restoration and the installation on a “puddling clay” base to prevent leakages. Future work will include restoration of the surrounding land and provision of water feeds to prevent complete drainage issues in hot weather.
With hard work, support from the local community and your kind donations the work to restore the pond to its former glory can be completed. Funds are required quickly as the site is dry and work needs to be started before the wet weather returns which will delay the restoration effort.
The local council and businesses are pledging support to the community project with donations and supply of goods and services.
Any donation that you can make will be greatly appreciated
Please contact us at [email redacted] if you can assist or have any questions.
Thank you
