Save Her HEART ❤️ Save her life and mine

Barry is our sweet sweet rescue kitty.  She is now 4 months old and has a serious issue with her heart. Without surgery her life will be cut very short. Those closest to me know all to well that her unexpected arrival into my arms has been nothing short of her rescuing me. My mother passed unexpected in January. My mom had heart issues as well and one of her procedures was the exact issue sweet Barry is having. I have always said that Barry didn’t just stumble upon our home, she was placed here by someone up above.  I have no doubt my mom had a hand in Barry being here. My mom was my very best friend. We talked sometimes 15/20 times a day by phone. I held her hand and never left her side until her last breath. When I took Barry to see the vet and was told she had heart issues all I could do was cry and tell the vet it was just further confirmation that she was with me for a reason. Barry was orphaned by her mother and was so very tiny when she was given to me. I woke every 2-3 hours for weeks to syringe feed her until she could eat on her own. I bonded with this sweet girl so much and she is so loved. I never considered myself a cat person but now I can’t stand to think that her life could end so short. Barry needs me just as much as I need her. She has a beautiful purr that instantly makes me smile. She is very intrusive I say when she wants my attention. If I sit down and pick up my phone she jumps to my lap and sticks her head under the phone as she climbs up to my face. When it gets to be bedtime at night she will come find me and start licking my face to tell me she is ready to snuggle. When we get in bed she has to get right in my face and lick my face until she falls to sleep. Oh and you can guarantee at 4am she will again be in my face, persistently licking me until I wake and acknowledge her.

I took Barry to the Vet specialist yesterday and she has a PDA (patent ductus arteriosus). She needs surgery in the next 3 months so that she can continue to bless our lives. Without surgery the vet has said she will develop congestive heart failure and her life will be cut short. There are already signs of dilation to her left sided heart and lungs from the PDA. We are hopeful with surgery these can begin to normalize. She also has decreased heart contractility causing her heart to work extra hard. Barry needs surgery so she can continue to live a happy and full life. It is a given that without surgery we will not have her very long. I need this little girl to keep making me smile. She truly has helped with my heartache from my moms passing.

I do not like to ever ask for help, ever. Anyone that knows me knows all to well that I always do anything I can to help others. My mother taught me well to pay it forward, be kind, do for others and love with your whole heart. I want to do for Barry and give her the life she needs. I want her to have this surgery so that she can continue to live and be happy. We have exhausted our emergency funds in January when we made sure my mom had a final resting place so it’s making it hard to simply tell the vet to schedule her and get her on the mend. I am at your mercy and yes, I am asking for help. I have already put $900 into her vet bills to have her vaccinations and then yesterday an echocardiogram of her heart. The estimate for surgery arrived today and it is $4,846.00. If you find it in your heart to help I would be eternally grateful and indebted.

The vet specialist yesterday told me not to be too proud to make her a go fund me. This vet knows exactly what this sweet kitty means to me ♥️. I just don’t want to lose her as well, she has been my rescuer.  Thank you in advance for any help wether it be a donation, a share and yes EVEN A PRAYER!
