Help Save Historic Aiken Home
Tax deductible
- Effingham Lodge 98, is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that is raising money to restore a 133-year-old home at 403 Fairfield St., NE, Aiken, SC. This historic home was formerly used to educate freed slaves, women and children. Our EIN is 23-7168077.
- This home was formerly a part of the Schofield Normal and Industrial School founded by Martha Schofield after the Civil War, and is the last remaining building of the historic school campus.
- Our goal is to raise $166,000 to complete major renovations to prevent further age-related deterioration. Upon completing major renovations, the historic home will be available to community residents for training and educational opportunities; as well as being a venue for community events.
