HELP SAVE HOLY ROSARY CHURCH, PORTUGAL COVE SOUTH, NL

Hi, my name is Cynthia Power, chairperson PCS Historical Corporation. A non profit organization incorporated in 2016 with a mandate to "preserve, restore, develop and promote the historical and cultural assets of the town of Portugal Cove South, starting with Our Church.

Built in 1917, our great grandfathers gave freely of their time, land and materials to build a structure that would be the focal point of our community for generations to come, Our Holy Rosary Church.

Being nearly 100 years old our historical church began to show its age. In 2015 our group started fundraising to make the necessary improvements to Our Church and in 2019 after raising $131,738.13 renovations were completed.

Currently the people of Portugal Cove South are standing against the Roman Catholic Episcopal Corporation of St. John's (RCECSJ) in an effort to keep it from being sold.

We are now asking for public support to help with all expenses including legal fees that we will incur going forward in our stand to save Our Church.

Any donation will be greatly appreciated to help with our fight to save what is rightfully ours.

Holy Rosary Church is the heart of our community and will remain that way for generations to come.
